The second gameday of the Forte Challenger 125 tournament has ended at the National tennis center. The common enemy in the face of the COVID-19 is not going to give up yet, therefore, taking into account the increased sanitary and epidemiological safety measures during the competition, as well as at “Forte Challenger 100”, the tournament is being held without the admission of spectators under a strict protocol. But, as it was before, live broadcasts of ALL matches simultaneously from TWO tennis courts are available for watching on the website WWW.KTF.KZ.

The Kazakhstani player Mikhail Kukushkin, who was seeded third in the tournament, lost to Portuguese Frederico Ferreira Silva, who occupies the 179th place in the ATP rating, with a score of 3:6, 5:7. It was the starting round of the tournament. In 1 hour and 33 minutes fight, 33-year-old Kukushkin served an ace five times, made four double faults and realized one break while 25-year-old Silva performed four aces and realized three break points out of seven. This was the first official match of the athletes.

Another Kazakhstani Denis Yevseyev also lost to a player from Japan Tatsuma Ito in the starting match - 4:6, 6:2, 3:6. During the first set, the Japanese player turned out to be more agile and thanks to two realized breaks took a lead in the match. In the second set, Yevseyev played a completely different tennis: he began to attack more, made less mistakes and earned more break points on Ito's serve. Therefore, it was evident that the second set remained after the player from Kazakhstan. However, in the decisive phase, Tatsuma showed his character and defeated our tennis player. The match lasted 1 hour and 47 minutes. During this time period, Denis served four aces, made five double faults and implemented three out of four breaks.

On March 2, four Kazakhstani athletes will play at Forte Challenger 125. Timofey Skatov, owner of the wild card, will be the first to enter the central court. He will play against his fellow countryman Dmitry Popko. Later Aleksandr Nedovyesov will meet with Ukrainian Vladyslav Manafov. In the evening session, the athletes in doubles will start chasing the main trophy of the tournament. Denis Yevseyev, this time in tandem with Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan, will meet with the first seeded Americans Jackson Withrow /Nathaniel Lammons.
