About the tournament

From May 1 to 13, Shymkent will host the Asia / Oceania Final Qualifying Juniors Davis Cup and Juniors Billie Jean King Cup. The strongest 16&U juniors of Asia/Oceania will participate in the competitions.
The following girls' teams will compete for an entry to the World Championships: Kazakhstan, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
The following boys' teams will contest: Kazakhstan, Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Each event will be attended by 16 teams divided into four groups. The top two teams of each group will enter the play-off. They will then compete for an entry to the World Team Championships. This year four entries will be given to the A/O boys (semi-finalists automatically qualify for the World Cup).
Note that in parallel with Shymkent the qualifiers will be held in other parts of the world. Europe, Africa, South America, North and Central America will host other qualifying competitions to determine the final 16 teams that will compete in the World Championships next summer.
Davis Cup Juniors - is the premier international team tennis tournament for boys in the 16 and under age group.
The tournament was first held by the ITF in 1985 under the name of the Under-16 World Cup.
Each year, countries compete in regional qualifiers, with the winners advancing to the final where they compete for the title of champion. The national team of Kazakhstan takes part in the qualification within the geographic zone of Asia and Oceania.
A similar tournament among women's teams is the Billie Jean King Junior Cup.
The adult equivalent of the junior tournament is the Davis Cup.
Among the famous professional tennis players, the tournament was attended by Croatian Goran Ivanishevich, Americans Jim Courier, Michael Chang and Andy Roddick, Dutchman Richard Krajicek, Russians Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Marat Safin, Daniil Medvedev, Andrei Rublev, Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten, Australians Lleyton Hewitt, Nick Kiryus , Swiss Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Spaniards Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Canadians Denis Shapovalov, Auger Alyassime, and others.
