Kazakhstan's squad line-up against Chile announced
The national tennis team of Kazakhstan will play away in a Davis Cup qualifying tie against Chile on February 4-5
The coaching staff of the Kazakhstan team headed by Yuriy Schukin selected the following players:
Alexander Bublik (No. 36 in ATP Singles), Timofey Skatov (No. 143 in ATP Singles), Mikhail Kukushkin (No. 195 in ATP Singles), Andrey Golubev (No. 49 in ATP Doubles), Alexander Nedovesov (No. 55 in ATP Doubles).
«Why did the opponents choose clay in the middle of the hard season? Chilean team plays well on sandy surfaces and they show their best tennis on clay, so it's the best choice for them,» said Schukin.
The tie will be held in the city of La Serena and will consist of four singles matches and one doubles match in a best-of-three set format. The 12 winner teams will play in the tournament's final, where they will join the two finalists of the Davis Cup 2022 - Canada and Australia, as well as the two teams who received wild cards, i.e. Italy and Spain.
