Winners Crowned at the KPMG Open International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Aktau
The international wheelchair tennis tournament KPMG Open, part of the ITF WC50 series, has concluded in Aktau. The event marked the second stop of Kazakhstan’s spring tournament series, currently being hosted across the country. More than 60 athletes from 10 countries across Asia and Europe gathered on the courts by the Caspian Sea, including several Paralympic participants, to compete for prestigious trophies and valuable ranking points.
For the second consecutive year, Kazakhstan hosted a tournament of this level. In 2025, the KPMG Open was held in Astana and became Central Asia’s first international wheelchair tennis tournament held under the International Tennis Federation Futures.
This season, the tournament expanded significantly, with 14 players from the world’s top 100 rankings competing in Aktau. Kazakhstan’s national team was represented on home courts by 23 players from six regions of the country.
KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia has served as the general partner of wheelchair tennis in Kazakhstan since 2023. The KPMG Open tournament is organized jointly with the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation and is included in the official international calendar. Wheelchair tennis is also part of the Grand Slam tournament program.
