Kazakhstan’s top seed Elena Rybakina has secured her place in the fourth round of the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells. In a clinical third-round display, Rybakina defeated Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk (World No. 28) with a straight-sets victory, 6-4, 6-4.
Displaying remarkable consistency, Rybakina converted 5 of 7 break point opportunities, while recording one ace and two double faults. Her current form further solidifies her status as one of the top favorites for the title.
Rybakina will now face Great Britain’s Sonay Kartal (World No. 54) for a spot in the quarterfinals.
