Kazakhstan to host the WTA 250 event for the first time!

Just one month is remaining for a major event on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) World Tour  to take place in our country, as reported by the Press Service of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF).

From September 26 to October 2, 2021, the National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan will host many of the world’s best women's tennis stars competing for the coveted Astana Open  trophy and 250 world ranking points. The event will be broadcast to over 70 countries around the world 

«This will be an event of a grand scale. For two weeks Kazakhstan will be in the center of world tennis attention, firstly with  the men's ATP 250 event to  be followed by the women's WTA 250», said the Tournament  Director of the Astana Open WTA 250 tournament Peter Johnston. «We will do our best to deliver an unforgettable experience for tennis players and fans around the world.»

Kazakhstan National Team's top women players will play in the main round of the women's event. On the eve of the ATP 250 and WTA 250. Nur-Sultan will also  host  The Kazakhstan Championship.  The winners of which will receive a Wild Card into to the main draw of the ATP-250 / WTA-250, while the  finalists will  each be granted  a Wild Card into the ATP-250 / WTA-250 qualifying event.
