Arevalo - Brkic pairing scores upset win to advance to the doubles semi-finals at Astana Open

Nur Sultan, October 30 ( Media Release): Scratch pair of Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador and Tomislav Brkic of Bosnia Herzegovina scored the first upset in the doubles event as they scraped past the third seeded pair of New Zealand's Marcus Daniell and Austria's Phillip Oswald 7-6(4), 3-6, 11-9 to enter the doubles semifinals of the ATP 250 Astana Open which is being played at the National Tennis Centre in Nur -Sultan.
In the other quarterfinal matches, top seeded Belgian pair of Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen didn't have to take to the courts today as Israel's Jonathan Erlich and Belarusian Andrei Vasilevski gave them a walk over.
Fourth seeded Ben McLachlan of Japan and Croatian Franko Skugor pulled off a 6-3, 7-6(4) win over Dutchman Sander Arends and New Zealand's Artem Sitak.
Australian Open Runners up Max Purcell and Luke Saville had entered the semi-finals yesterday and they complete the four quarter finalists.
