«Nur-Sultan Challenger» tennis tournament commenced in the capital

From March 9 to March 15, 2020, the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan holds the ATP Challenger Series International Tennis Tournament - "Nur-Sultan Challenger" with the country's capital a sits venue. This event is held under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation and if to look at other tournaments held in our country, it is the second most important tennis event preceded by the President’s Cup.

The prize fund of the Nur-Sultan Challenger is $ 54,16 with about 70 professional tennis players from more than 20 countries as the tournament participants. Kazakhstan athletes are represented by Dmitry Popko, Alexander Nedovyesov, DenisYevseev, Sagadat Ayap, Grigory Lomakin, Andrey Golubev. While Timur Khabibulin, Dostanbek Tashbulatov, Bekzat Usipbekov, Timur Maulenov and DanilOzernoy received the WC from the organizer of the event.

Wild Cart (WC) is a special invitation to a player with an insufficient rating for participation in a tournament, which is issued by the organizers at their discretion. 

RostislavGalfinger will also participate in the main draw, as his rival at the qualifying round did not arrive at the tournament due to international travel restrictions. 

This tournament is also special due to the fact that it is attended by young alumni of the Team Kazakhstan Academy B. Usipbekov, R. Galfinger, D. Ozernoy, for whom this tournament would be the first experience at the ATP Challenger series tournament.

The seeding of the tournament will be led by the representative from Egypt, Mohamed Safvat, No.131 in the ATP world ranking. Also among the main applicants are Yannick Maden (No. 149), Kimmer Coppejans (No. 154) and YuriyRodionov (No. 168). Dmitry Popko was seeded at as No.7 in this tournament.
