Today in Nur-Sultan the National Tennis Center hosted the celebration of the World Tennis Day, attended by children enrolled in the Tennis 10&U program and invited guests. Young tennis players together with their coaches played exciting and fun relay races, attended a workshop  from the members of the Kazakhstan national team, and received memorable gifts from the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan. The event itself is dedicated to the World Tennis Day, which is annually celebrated on the first Monday of March. The decision to celebrate this occasion on this day was made by the International Tennis Federation in order to promote tennis and attract more youth to it. Today, the players of the Kazakhstan national team Mikhail Kukushkin, Alexander Bublik, Andrey Golubev, Alexander Nedovyesov, Dmitry Popko, Denis Yevseev and Grigory Lomakin had a fun game with the children in Nur-Sultan and showed them the basic techniques in tennis. Such workshops have already become traditional and have great success among children, as meetings with professionals very much inspire young tennis players for new achievements.

“This is a traditional annual event where children may not only play and have fun, but also get to know professional players, members of the national team. After such communication, younger tennis players have more self-confidence”, said Yuriy Polsky, the vice president of the Tennis Federation.

Today's event held in the tennis centre of the capital was attended by more than 200 children aged 5 to 10 years, while some of them get only acquainted with tennis and today they first took a racket in their hands. In addition, this festival was celebrated by the subsidiaries of the Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan throughout the country, i.e. in tennis venues in Almaty, Shymkent, Petropavlovsk, Atyrau, Aktobe, Taraz and Uralsk, where children gathered and participated in exhibition lessons and fun relay races. Overall, today more than 1,500 people have been involved in the celebration of the World Tennis Day throughout the country.

The Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan, guided by a long-term development strategy for this sport, pays special attention to youth and children's tennis, as only such an approach can guarantee the emergence of Kazakhstani tennis stars in the foreseeable future at the international level.
