Kazakhstan’s Denis Evseev kept his tournament campaign alive at the ATP Challenger 50 in Shymkent, reaching the doubles quarterfinals alongside Moldova’s Radu Albot. The duo delivered a solid performance to defeat the Belarusian pair of Sergey Betov and Daniil Ostapenkov in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6.

For Evseev, this doubles run provides a welcome turnaround after a tough opening-round loss in the singles draw to Dali Blanch (6-7, 1-6). Competing in the doubles bracket allows the Kazakh player to stay in contention and continue performing in front of the home crowd.

Evseev and Albot now await the winners of the match between Gijs Brouwer / Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Ergi Kirkin / Andrej Nedic to determine their semifinal opponents.

Home Hopes As the tournament progresses, Kazakhstan’s representation has narrowed to just two players: Evseev in doubles and Timofey Skatov in the singles draw. Both will be looking to capitalize on home-court support as they fight for a spot on the podium.
