Elena Rybakina ended the WTA Tour season defeating the world's No. 1 player

The Kazakh player, ranked 5th in the world ranking, defeated Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka in her final match of the WTA Final event held in Saudi Arabia, 6:4, 3:6, 6:1.

Note that over the past two seasons Elena has won six victories over the top players:
* Vs. Iga Swiatek at Australian Open 2023; 
* Vs. Iga Swiatek at Indian Wells 2023;
* Vs. Iga Swiatek in Rome 2023; 
* Vs. Arina Sabalenka in Beijing 2023; 
* Vs. Iga Swiatek in Stuttgart 2024;
* Vs. Arina Sabalenka in Riyadh 2024.

At the end of 2024 Rybakina will remain the world's No.5. Elena will soon be appearing to play for the national team of Kazakhstan in the playoffs of the Billie Jean King Cup vs.  the team of South Korea on November 16-17 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
