Six players from the world's TOP 30 will play at the ATP 250 Almaty Open
The list of top players of the first ATP 250 event in Almaty, which will be held from October 13 to October 20, 2024, has become known.
The entry list is headed by: the runner-up of the ATP 250 «Astana Open» 2023 edition American Sebastian Korda (15 ATP), American Frances Tiafoe (16 ATP), Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (22 ATP), Russian Karen Khachanov (23 ATP), French Arthur Fils (25 ATP) and Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik (27 ATP).
The event will also be attended by the following players: Italian Flavio Cobolli (32 ATP), Czech Tomas Machac (35 ATP), last year's ATP 250 Astana Open champion French Adrian Mannarino (46 ATP), Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (49 ATP), former ninth-ranked Italian Fabio Fognini and others.
In addition to national team's leading player Alexander Bublik, Kazakhstan's honor at the prestigious tournament will be defended by Alexander Shevchenko, Mikhail Kukushkin, Timofey Skatov, Beibit Zhukaev and Denis Evseev, with Alexander Nedovyesov in doubles.
«We are very happy with the lineup of players we managed to gather this year. These are very strong tennis players who have proven themselves well this season. It was very difficult to invite the higherst-ranked players this year because the TOP 6 players including Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Rafael Nadal will be playing in an exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia at the same time. The Saudi tournament offers great financial benefits, including very high prize money and the guaranteed player remuneration, amounting to USD 15 million. Of course, we will not spend such money to bring players, as our priority is the development of Kazakhstan's juniors» - said the «Almaty Open» official representative from the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation Yuriy Polskiy.
