Kazakhstan Tennis Federation reports on completion of the formation of the Kazakhstan tennis team for the upcoming XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Formation of the squad was based on the Olympics regulations, according to which the main qualifying criterion for admission to the Games are the personal ranking of players in the ATP and WTA world rankings.

This year the honor of Kazakhstan in the Olympic tennis competitions will be defended by the following players: in singles - Elena Rybakina (No. 4), Yulia Putintseva (No. 34), Alexander Bublik (No. 23) and Alexander Shevchenko (No. 58), in doubles - Alexander Bublik & Alexander Nedovyessov.

For the first time world's No. 58 Alexander Shevchenko will play for Kazakhstan at the upcoming Olympic Tennis Event. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) took into account Shevchenko's long cultural and family ties with Kazakhstan, as well as the fact that his mother is a native of the city of Zhezkazgan, giving him permission to play under the flag of our country.
