In the semifinals of the Beeline Open Challenger 80 Almaty tournament, the Kazakhstani defeated Tseng Chun-Xin from Taipei in two sets, 6:2, 6:3 and for the first time in his career reached the singles final of the Challenger series tournament. On Sunday, June 13, our athlete will fight for the title against the winner of the match with Dmitry Popko (Kazakhstan) vs Zizou Bergs (Belgium). After the match Skatov shared his emotions with the press service of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

- Timofey, congratulations on your victory. How did it work out for you?
- I am glad that I managed to defeat the opponent to whom I lost in juniors, so I took revenge. In the first set, a fight ensued on my serve, the opponent had a good chance of taking the lead, I won back, it was not easy to break through the stonewall vis-a-vis, he tried to drive me more, was waiting for my mistake. But I stuck to my original game plan persistently and won.

- What does the first Challenger final of your career mean to you?
“I’m very glad, just crazy, that it happened at home. Let's see how it goes. I don’t want to make a guess.

- If Popko wins his semifinal match today, the first purely Kazakhstani final may take place. How do you like this scenario?
- This scenario is to my liking. Dmitry and I have a different style of play. Two Kazakhstani in the final is a dream! "
