Sonya Zhiyenbayeva claims W75 title in Spain
Kazakhstan’s Sonya Zhiyenbayeva has won the W75 international tournament in Ourense, Spain.
In the final, Zhiyenbayeva, ranked No. 738 in the world, faced Bulgaria’s Isabella Shinikova, who is currently No. 442 in the WTA rankings.
The three-set match lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes, with the Kazakhstani player securing a 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-1 victory.
The triumph marked Zhiyenbayeva’s first career title at World Tennis W75 level. She also has two W15 titles to her name, both won in 2024 in Madrid and Antalya.
