In total, 18 teams will compete in the United Cup, divided into six groups. The team of Kazakhstan has become the last participant in the tournament, which is selected strictly according to the WTA and ATP ratings. In group B, the teams of Poland and Switzerland will play with the Kazakhs. All group stage matches for these teams will be played in Brisbane.
Each confrontation will consist of five matches. In the afternoon session, one singles match will be held by men and women. In the evening session there will be two more singles matches for men and women, and then a mixed doubles game (mixed doubles).
Teams from the groups advance to the semi-finals. First, the national team will need to win their group of three teams, and then play with the best team in another group from the same city. Groups A (Greece, Belgium, Bulgaria) and F (France, Croatia, Argentina) will play in Perth, groups B (Poland, Switzerland, Kazakhstan) and E (Italy, Brazil, Norway) will play in Brisbane, groups C ( USA, Germany, Czech Republic) and D (Spain, Australia, UK).
If the Kazakhstan national team wins the group, then it will compete with the winner of group E for reaching the semi-finals, and only in the event of this victory will it make it to the playoffs. The three teams that won the city finals will advance to the semi-finals, while the team that lost the best result in the city finals will be the fourth semi-finalist.
All major matches, semi-finals and finals will be held in Sydney at the Ken Rosewall Arena, which can accommodate 10.5 thousand spectators. But at the group stage, the team of Kazakhstan will play in Brisbane at the Patrick Rafter Arena.
